This picture shows HMS Invincible steaming alongside the USS John C. Stennis. The picture shows how ridiculously small the Invincible class is. However the carriers do frequently work together and this was, in fact, one of the reasons for their design. The idea was that in the cold war, an Invincible Class aircraft carrier would work alongside an American aircraft carrier to provide ASW protection. This would enable the American vessel to concentrate on ASUW and AAW missions.
